The National Association of Realtors has released a list of those cities with “markets to watch” in home sales in 2023.
Among those, Atlanta tops the list as “the New York of the South”, with the forecast that it is situated to have the most potential for growth in the New Year.
This because it has great housing affordability and is growing at a rapid pace. In addition, it appears that 20% of the population that is currently renting, can afford to buy a median priced home. That makes for quite a “pool” of potential new and first time home buyers!
In fact, the south as a whole is expected to have some of the most promising markets in the country. The projection made by NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun proposes that home prices could climb by as much as 5% by the end of the year.
Among those cities in the South that are projected to be the most promising markets to watch in 2023, are:
Raleigh, NC
Dallas- Fort Worth – Arlington Texas
Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, Arkansas/Missouri
Greenville- Anderson – Mauldin, SC
Charleston, NC/SC
Jacksonville, FL
San Antonio – New Braunfels, TX
