News of an uptick in home sales in July is of course, “music to my ears”, especially as that can be or cause a direct correlation in the numbers of renderings requested by our clients, which keeps a business busy, that we have dedicated the last more than thirty years to.
While the article below talks of higher inventory and a lower average home price, the news is doubly good as it means that hopefully more families may be finding a way to buy their little corner of home ownership and the chance to build a life there along with perhaps then being able to raise a family in a home.
We know that over the years, it has seemed that home ownership eludes a large percentage of our families and it would be nice to see that scenario shift in a direction that allows people to put down roots and be a part of a community that might have up until now, seemed unattainable.
I believe it is empowering for all of us that want to own a home and provide a safe and positive chance at giving our children the opportunity to grow in community with others, be able to avail themselves of a good education, while still being able to provide the family with the other basic needs like food and medical care that is affordable for everyone.
Incentivizing builders and cities to participate in making this possible for all of us seems like a smart and much-needed plan for everyone, not just the. super wealthy.
Rent has become so high that making home ownership available to those already mentioned as well as those “approaching” the age to have that opportunity, is more important than ever.
I pray that those that can have an impact, will do everything in their power to help see this through. I would love to see us return to the safer and. more affordable “days of old”, which for me, is really not that long ago and yet does at times, seem so far away now.
